Report emerald ash borer (EAB) sightings

The MN Dept. of Agriculture (MDA) handles this. You can contact them in the following ways:

  • Call the Arrest the Pest hot line at (651) 201-6684 or (888) 545-6684, OR
  • E-mail  Arrest.The.Pest@state.mn.us, OR
  • Go to the MDA website, www.mda.state.mn.us and look for Emerald Ash Borer Program. Then look for “Do I have Emerald Ash Borer?” and work through the checklist to determine if you should get in touch with an EAB First Detector.  After working through the checklist, call the Forest Resources Extension at 612-624-3020 if you believe you have Emerald Ash Borer.

EAB quarantines, including quarantine questions about firewood

  • Go to the MDA website, www.mda.state.mn.us and look for Emerald Ash Borer Program. Then look for EAB quarantine information.

Gypsy moth and gypsy moth treatments

The MDA generally handles these calls; however, the DNR can be contacted.

  • Approved firewood vendor applications or listings or questions about what is approved firewood, go to http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/firewood/index.html  or call Michelle Jacobson (651) 259-5300.
  • Firewood vendors who want to sell directly to the park: contact the desired state-administered facility.
  • Fuelwood permits for those wanting to collect it on state land: contact the desired state-administered facility.
